On June 14, 2017, after incessant rain for 48 hours, the capital Guwahati woke up to severe waterlogging; a flood alert was sounded in at least 5 districts in lower Assam, and both the Brahmaputra and the Barak rivers were flowing above the danger mark.

In the initial first round of floods, as many as 170 villages are affected due to floods in five districts. Land erosion has also created problems in many areas.

Anybody Can Help along with IGSSS initiated relief movement for Lakhimpur with the help of Indigo Airlines and distributed food kits.
