Nepal Earthquake

Date: April-May 2015 | Places: Nepal

Nepal was stuck with a catastrophic Earthquake on 25th April 2015, which tore their nation apart. We witnessed how the Indian Government swung into action immediately when they heard the news of destruction in Nepal and showed the solidarity in times of crisis.

At that point we were wondering what we as the ordinary citizens of India could do our bit to show our support towards the citizens of Nepal beleaguered by the nature.

And this is how we team Anybody Can Help got introduced to each other via social media and decided to jointly send various relief materials to our country’s friendly neighbor. One may say this was our first project.

With no past experience and contacts but with pure conviction we could achieve this daunting task of coordinating the logistics, transport and then finding the local contacts in Nepal who could distribute the relief material directly to the affected people mostly in rural parts.

Credit also goes to the various Social media support that we received, selfless efforts by the airline companies who transported our consignments at no cost and the local team from Nepal who made our endeavors possible.

In almost 10 days we managed to send the following to Nepal
– 750 kilograms of Theplas
– 1000 kilograms of tents
– 600 kilograms of tarps and tents
– 1300 kilograms of Dal rice by road
– 2 doctor volunteers
– 220 kilograms of dry snacks
– 200 boxes of medical kits utilized by doctors

We are so happy that we could contribute in this little way to Nepal’s needy and poor who lost their houses and livelihood in this destruction.
