Date: 2019 | Places: Amboda village

Amboda, one of the villages in Nandura Taluka was suffering from water shortage since last 3- 4 years. A small river or odha is running in vicinity of the village is completely dry during most of the time of the year except during active monsoon. As per the advice of the water conservation expert , the river bed was excavated and deepening carried out .The monsoon water will now has been stored in large quantities which will be ultimately be percolated within the soil . This will increase the level of ground water and will benefit the village to overcome the water shortage. With the help of expert we were able to achieve three sections of deepening of the size 2 meter deep, 5-10 meter width as per the river bed and 30 meters long. This had a cascading effect and improved the under-water table of the entire river creating sustainable water situation. After working in these drought areas; Anybody Can Help realized that only water can break the vicious circle of poverty and underdevelopment. Creating new water bodies and rejuvenating existing water sources and conservation is extremely important.
